Registration desk

You're on the desk on the morning. You need two things from the organiser:

• 🔗 the desk link
• 🔑 the desk code

Open the link, type the code, and you're looking at the whole field.

🛡️ That code opens the desk and nothing else. You can't see scores or settings — so you can't break anything. Relax.

✅ Checking a team in

Teams walk up. For each one, three steps:

1. 🔍 Find them — type any player's name in the search box, not just the team name. People know their own name; they don't always know what their captain called the team.
2. 📢 Read them their code — it's printed large on their team's card on your screen. That code is how they record their scores.
3. ✅ Press "Check in".

😅 Mis-tapped? Undo check-in is right there. It happens — that's what it's for.

⏰ Watching the clock

The counter at the top — "14 of 18 in · 4 still to arrive" — is the thing to watch as the start approaches.

💡 Tick "Only those still to arrive" to see just the missing teams, and someone can start ringing them.

🔄 Substitutions — the important bit

Someone's mate dropped out. A replacement has turned up with a different handicap. This is the real work of the desk, and timing matters:

⚠️ A handicap must be right before the player tees off. Once they're out on the course it can't be corrected fairly.

1. ✏️ Press Change next to the player.
2. 👤 Put in the new name and their handicap index. The course handicap is worked out for you — or type the club's own number, which always wins.
3. 👀 Check the preview line — it shows what they'll play off.
4. 💾 Save.

🔓 Why check-in matters

Checking a team in is what unlocks their scorecard. Until you press Check in, their code won't record scores. So nobody scores from the car park, and nobody you haven't seen tees off unnoticed.

🚫 What you can't do

Add or remove whole teams, see anyone's scores, change event settings, or email anyone. Need any of that? Grab the organiser — it's a ten-second job on their phone.
