Put it on your home screen
Countback isn't in the App Store or Play Store — it installs straight from the website, in about ten seconds.
Once it's on your home screen it opens full-screen like any app, with the Countback icon, and keeps working out on the course where there's no signal — which is exactly why the person keeping your team's score should do this before the day.
🔗 Start by opening your event link (it's in your team pack email) in your phone's browser. Then:
🍎 iPhone and iPad
- 🧭 Open the link in Safari.
- ⬆️ Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen (top-right on iPad).
- ➕ Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- ✅ Tap Add.
💡 Can't see "Add to Home Screen"? Scroll further down the share list — on older iPhones it's near the bottom.
🤖 Android
- 🌐 Open the link in Chrome.
- ⬇️ Some phones simply offer an Install bar at the bottom — tap it and you're done.
- ⋮ Otherwise, tap the three-dot menu (top-right), then Add to Home screen (on some versions it says Install app).
- ✅ Tap Add / Install.
📱 Samsung phones using the Samsung Internet browser: tap the ≡ menu → Add page to → Home screen.
✨ Afterwards
- 🚀 Open it from the icon like any other app — no browser bar, straight in.
- 🔑 You stay signed in with your team code, all day.
- 🔄 Updates arrive by themselves. Nothing to keep up to date; nothing to uninstall afterwards beyond deleting the icon.
- 📵 Scores entered with no signal are kept on the phone and sync on their own when you're back in range — the screen tells you when that's happening.
